Plywood
A low shelving unit for a kids' room inspired by the iconic Tic-Tac-Toe game. The individual parts are CNC-milled and the entire shelving unit is assembled using interlocking slot joints, without any fasteners. The shelving unit is designed for efficient use of material and can be made from a single 4' × 8' sheet of plywood (2440 × 1220 mm) with minimal waste.
Following the principles of distributed manufacturing, this project provides the files necessary for self-production using widely available materials and digital technologies. The files are prepared for a range of sheet material thicknesses. In addition to plywood, the shelving unit can be made from MDF or Velchromat.
